MechaCrop : A Technology Initiative for Sustainable Agriculture in India

MechaCrop is an impact initiative founded by Aryan Rajvanshi, utilizing machine learning integrated with drones for detecting crop diseases in Indian farms. After engaging in extensive primary and secondary research, Aryan identified that 30% of crop losses are due to undetected diseases.

He developed a CNN algorithm and trained the model with a dataset of 20000 pictures for four crop diseases: Corn common rust, Apple black rot, Tomato early blight, and Strawberry leaf scorch. Field trials were conducted in ‘Udan’ village in Gujarat, where it achieved high accuracy. Aryan provided a two-week drone operation training session to villagers.

Early Detection of Crop Diseases using CNN Classification

Aryan authored the research paper “Early Detection of Crop Diseases using CNN Classification”... which has been published in the “National High School Journal of Sciences” within agricultural technology. The paper has been presented at the 8th International Student Science Congress, Turkey, 2024.

Enhancing String Inverter Efficiency in Solar Farms using AI

Aryan spent the summer of 2024 as an intern and researcher at Adani Green Energy in Gujarat,... working with the digital team, to help enhance energy efficiency in solar farms. He developed a deep learning model that takes into account unstructured parameters like humidity and dust, beyond the regular parameters of current and resistance, to assess their impact on central string inverter failures, a key vulnerability in solar power production.

Automated Soil Irrigation System for Farmers

As President, Design Thinking Club, Aryan and his team are developing ... an irrigation mechanism to ensure optimal use of water in the farms. The team has worked on every component to reduce the costs through value engineering and localization. The prototypes developed are under trials at the farms.
